Saito Clinic, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture
This is a clinic planned in a residential area. The director is a skilled surgeon, and despite his appearance, he has an operating room and an MRI room. Since it is an area where 3 stories cannot be built, the room on the 2nd floor is protruding to secure a parking lot.

The center of the building is a courtyard that brings light into each room. The director was trying to open up the formality of a surgical clinic and promote community-based medical care.

In order not to be intrusive in a residential area, we used charred cedar walls, which are often seen in this area facing the sea, but many patients said that they had been looking for a long time because it did not look like a clinic. The signboard was installed in a hurry. (but same result)

At the request of the director, we wanted to create a clinic where both patients and staff can feel at ease, so we made it possible to see an English-style courtyard from the examination room.

In the courtyard garden, the director himself plants trees and flowers and takes care of them.

Light comes in from the courtyard even from the waiting space. Except for the treatment room, the floor is entirely solid wood.

Adjacent rehabilitation building. An unimaginable number of patients came to the clinic in a residential area, so we separated the rehabilitation department.
